RECOMMENDATION
title
Approve and authorize Agreement No. 260200B with AMS.NET for the purchase of 75 CUBE licenses with a 58-month term and an annual cost of $1,791. (Fiscal Impact: $1,791 Expense; Information Technology Services Fund; Budgeted; Discretionary)
body
BACKGROUND
AMS.NET is the vendor the County uses for its telephony software licenses, annual technical support and Cisco Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone system. AMS.NET is an authorized vendor of Cisco software licenses.
Cisco CUBE (Cisco Unified Border Element) is the technology that connects the County's internal phone system to outside carriers (public telephone network, SIP trunk providers, etc.). Cisco requires licensing based on concurrent call paths and the total number of licenses the County maintains ensures that staff, departments, and emergency lines all have the capacity needed to handle calls at peak times; these licenses allow the County to make and receive external phone calls securely and reliably. Without the CUBE licenses, the County's call capacity may be impacted, resulting in busy signals, dropped calls, or the inability for outside parties to reach the County.
The total cost for 75 CUBE licenses is $8,657, which will be invoiced annually. Due to the aggregate total per fiscal year with the vendor, Board approval is required.
Requested Action:
