Approve transmittal of the proposed responses to the 2023-24 Grand Jury Final Reports to the Presiding Judge as prescribed by Section 933 of the Penal Code. (No Fiscal Impact; Mandatory)

BACKGROUND

The County received the “Napa County’s Communication with its Citizens,” “Raising Awareness of Elder Abuse in Napa County,” and “Skyline Academy at Juvenile Hall Delay and Disorganization” and “Hitting the Reset Button; Addressing Gangs in Napa County” Grand Jury reports. Staff prepared proposed responses to the findings and recommendations.

Staff will process any direction received from the Board and return any revised responses for further review. Upon Board approval, staff will transmit the responses to the Presiding Judge. Copies of the reports are on file with the Clerk of the Board or may be accessed online through the Napa County Superior Court’s website.

Requested Action:

1.                     Approve transmittal of the proposed responses to the 2023-24 Grand Jury Final Reports to the Presiding Judge as prescribed by Section 933 of the Penal Code.
