BACKGROUND
At the July 23, 2024 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board approved of the recommendations by staff to provide reimbursements for food recovery capacity building projects submitted in response to a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) by Community Action Napa Valley (CANV) and Feeding it Forward. Agreements were executed and finalized in October 2024. After further consideration, CANV determined they were unable to complete the approved project due to difference in the awarded amount, $40,000 and the actual cost of the project they were approved to complete. CANV was awarded a reimbursement of $40,000 of their requested $84,986 to purchase a refrigerated box truck. CANV was unable to cover the difference between the awarded amount and the cost of the project.

Staff worked with CANV, reviewing and rejecting two alternate proposals, before reviewing a third alternative proposal. This third proposal is recommended for approval by staff from Napa County, Upper Valley Waste Management Agency and the City of Napa, the jurisdictions that reviewed and made recommendations on the applications for the original NOFA.

The proposed amendment will reimburse CANV $40,000, the originally awarded amount, for the purchase of a Chevrolet Tahoe LS or LT.
