BACKGROUND
On July 29, 2025, Board of Supervisors approved Resolution No. 2025-80, making updates to the Donation Procedures, which authorized Department Heads to accept donations up to $10,000 without Board approval.
Director of Library Services seeks the Board's approval to accept a donation in the amount of $60,000 from the Napa County Library Foundation. The donation will help fund projects and programs provided to the community at the Napa County Library locations.
Requested actions:
1. Accept a donation in the amount of $60,000 from the Napa County Library Foundation; and
2. Authorize a letter of appreciation in acceptance of the donation.

Where is it budgeted?
The donation is budgeted in the library's General Operations, Subdivision 2020000, revenue line item 47500 Donations/Contributions

Discretionary Justification:
Deposit of donations into the specified library location budget will facilitate fiscal monitoring and ensure that donation spending will be consistent with the intent of the donors

Future fiscal impact:
None. Donated funds will be utilized in the current fiscal year
Consequences if not approved:
If the requested action is not approved, the library will not be able to accept the $60,000 donation to help fund projects and programs provided to the community at the Napa County Library locations
