BACKGROUND

There is currently one opening on the Napa County Wildlife Conservation Commission due to a resignation. The County Executive Office advertised the opening and received two applications from Leslie Lew and Laura Snideman.

The purpose of the Wildlife Conservation Commission (WCC) is to advise the Board of Supervisors on policy matters related to the preservation and enhancement of wildlife and their habitats. This includes how funds received by Napa County, which is comprised of Fish and Game fines that are expended for the preservation, propagation, and protection of birds, mammals, fish, and amphibians.

 

The WCC consists of eight members appointed by the Board of Supervisors as follows:

                     Four members representing the Public at Large;

                     One Sportsperson/Angler;

                     One Wildlife/Conservation representative;

                     One Youth between the ages of 15 and 25; and

                     One Planning Commission representative.

 

PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.                     Staff reports.

2.                     Public comments.

3.                     Motion, seconds, discussion, and vote on the item.

 

 

Requested Action:

Appoint one (1) applicant to represent Public At Large to the Napa County Wildlife Conservation Commission.

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
