BACKGROUND

The District Attorney, will attend the National Criminal Justice Training Center (NCJTC) course titled “Strategies for Instructional Excellence” to be held in Atlanta, Georgia. 

The Strategies for Instructional Excellence course is a professional development opportunity designed to strengthen the instructional and facilitation skills of criminal justice professionals involved in training, community education, and staff development. The training provides evidence-based strategies and best practices to enhance instructional delivery and learner engagement, with a focus on developing the core skills necessary to improve the effectiveness of staff-led trainings and community education initiatives.

District Attorney Haley, will be in a position to share the knowledge gained from this conference with the Napa law enforcement agencies, Attorney’s, the Victim Advocates, and non-profit agency partners.

Requested Action:

Approve out of state travel for District Attorney Allison Haley to Atlanta, Georgia from December 7 - 11, 2025 to attend Strategies for Instructional Excellence.

Participation in this training for District Attorney Allison Haley demonstrates our commitment to professional excellence and best practices in justice education and training. DA Haley will share knowledge acquired from the conference with local law enforcement agencies, attorney’s, victim advocates, and nonprofit agency partners.

Consequences if not approved:

The County of Napa will miss the opportunity to review best practices in justice education and training, and DA Haley will be unable to share that knowledge with other law enforcement partners.
