BACKGROUND

The County entered into Agreement No. 210390B with Rimon P.C. on April 9, 2021, for the provision of specialized legal services related to third-party bankruptcy actions that could impact County interests, including but not limited to secured and unsecured property taxes. County Counsel and the Treasurer-Tax Collector wish to continue using Rimon P.C. for these services. The County entered into Amendment 1 to the Agreement, effective as of December 6, 2022, increasing the maximum compensation to $25,000 per fiscal year and extending the term to June 30, 2024, with two automatic renewals at the end of each fiscal year. The County entered into Amendment 2 to the Agreement, effective as of May 16, 2023, increasing the maximum compensation to $50,000 per fiscal year. It is now necessary to extend the term of the agreement through June 30, 2031, to allow Rimon P.C. to continue to represent the County in these matters at no additional cost.

Requested Action: Approve and authorize Amendment No. 3 to Agreement No. 210390B with the law firm of Rimon P.C., extending the term of the agreement through June 30, 2031.
