BACKGROUND

On September 10, 2019, the County entered into Agreement No. 200110B with Selectron Technologies to provide managed hosting service for automated inspection scheduling for a total cost of $150,000. Automating the inspection scheduling process has significantly improved efficiency, reducing impacts on staff time, and improving customer service. The County would like to amend the agreement to extend the term of the agreement through June 30, 2029 and to increase the compensation by $137,165 to a maximum compensation of $287,165.

Discretionary Justification:

Automating the inspection scheduling process increases the efficiency of the Building Division, reducing impacts on staff time, and improving accessibility for customers as they can choose to schedule inspections by phone, text, or online.

No

Future fiscal impact:

This contract will be budgeted in future fiscal years through Fiscal Year 2028-29.

Consequences if not approved:

If not approved, Building Division staff would need to schedule inspections manually using a voicemail box which would cause significant impacts to customer service and staff time.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
