Director of Public Works requests acceptance of a donation in the amount of $1,000 from Susan Wenner to the Napa County Animal Shelter and approval for the Chair to sign a letter of appreciation.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In accordance with Board Resolution No. 05-40 and the Recommended Procedure for the Acceptance and Disbursement of Gifts, Bequests, or Devices for donations in excess of $1,000, this agenda item has been prepared to accept a donation in the amount of $1,000 from Susan Wenner and to send a letter of appreciation for the generous contribution.

Is it currently budgeted?

No

Where is it budgeted?

A donation in the amount of $1,000 has been received by the Napa County Animal Shelter from Susan Wenner.  The donation will be split, $500 deposited in the Shelter operating fund:  Fund:  5040, Subdivision:  5040000 and $500 deposited in the Spay/Neuter fund: Fund: 5040, Subdivision: 5040001.

Is it Mandatory or Discretionary?

Discretionary

Discretionary Justification:

This donation will support Animal Shelter operations and Spay/ Neuter Fund.

Is the general fund affected?

No

Future fiscal impact:

It is anticipated that funding deposited into the Animal Shelter operational and spay neuter funds will be expended prior to the end of the fiscal year.

Consequences if not approved:

The donation will be returned to the donor and the Animal Shelter would not benefit from this gift.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.

 

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

Susan Wenner has donated $1,000 to the Animal Shelter to assist with general operations and the Spay/Neuter fund.  Staff requests acceptance of this donation and authorization to send the attached letter of appreciation
