BACKGROUND
The District is scheduled to complete the last phase of construction for the Bale Slough-Bear Creek Restoration Project (Project) in the summer of 2026. Funds for construction of the Group B restoration sites have been secured for the Project. In support of implementation of this final phase of the Project, the District requires the services of a qualified engineering firm to provide engineering services and biological surveys and monitoring. Amending the existing contract with Questa Engineering Corp. will make it possible for the District to successfully complete the restoration Project over the course of 2026 and 2027.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: A Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) was prepared and approved for the Bale Slough - Bear Creek Restoration Project on 11/15/2021. Per the MND and regulatory permits issued for the Project all Project related impacts were reduced to less than significant per the mitigation measures and protective terms and conditions developed for the Project.
