BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

There are several ongoing and long-term facility maintenance projects that require permanent staffing at existing and new County facilities.  By removing the limited term status of these positions, the County will attract candidates and will complete the ongoing maintenance projects more quickly with adequate staffing.

If approved, the requested action will delete two vacant 1.0 FTE Building Maintenance Worker - Limited Term (currently set to expire June 30, 2025) from the Public Work’s Department allocation list, and adds two regular 1.0 FTE Building Maintenance Workers.

Therefore, the Director of Human Resources and Director of Public Works request adoption of a Resolution amending the Departmental Allocation List for the Public Works Department, effective December 9, 2023, with no net increase in FTEs.
