BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

The MHB is comprised of fifteen members from a diverse background. The MHB includes Supervisor Gregory, family members of people experiencing mental illness, concerned citizens and consumers. The MHB members participate in fifteen committees and workgroups in the County that are focused on critical key areas of mental health services, including, among others, the Promoting Integrated Care Workgroup, Cultural Competency Committee and Veterans Commission. The purpose of the MHB is to support HHSA in the provision of high-quality mental health services and programs across Napa County.

In FY 2021-2022 the MHB focus was on meeting goals and objectives developed by the MHB Executive Committee. The two objectives were supported by nine goals. In total, all goals were either fully or partially met ensuring the MHB met targets for accomplishment. The support of the MHB is a key partnership in the continuous improvement of the HHSA-Mental Health services. The MH leadership team provides monthly updates on operations, program planning, contract negotiations and stakeholder engagement to enhance collaboration, communication across the community and feedback for services. HHSA is grateful for the valuable service of the MHB, which shines in the FY 2021-2022 Annual Report.
