SUBJECT: Community Grants Funding Request for Various Nonprofit Organizations

Approve and authorize allocation of Board of Supervisors’ District 5 community grant funds to the American Canyon Arts Foundation, the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Meet Me in the Street 2026, and Manila Munchies 2026 to provide support and community benefit. BACKGROUND
The Board of Supervisors may allocate community grant funds for nonprofit support and community benefit.
The first is for the American Canyon Arts Foundation (ACAF) to fund an annual District 5 student art contest that provides an opportunity for students to gain recognition for their talents and support to pursue higher education. The amount of $1,500 of Board of Supervisors’ District 5 community grant will be used to fund the contest.
The second is the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce Foundation to support their youth and workforce development programs. The amount of $1,000 of Board of Supervisors’ District 5 community grant will be used to fund their programs such as Kids Commerce and their partnership to educate American Canyon High School seniors to prepare for the job market and learn how to start a business.
The third is Meet Me in the Street, the largest community event in American Canyon hosted by the American Canyon Chamber of Commerce. Held annually on the second Wednesday of June, July, August, and now September, this free event brings together thousands of community members to connect with businesses, nonprofits, services, and each other. The amount of $1,250 of Board of Supervisors’ District 5 community grant will be used to fund the 2026 Meet Me in the Street series of events.
The fourth is Manila Munchies, a community event that celebrates Filipino American History Month, highlighting Filipino cuisine, businesses, entertainment and more. Organized by the nonprofit Friendors, Inc., the event shares Filipino culture with the community. The amount of $950 of Board of Supervisors’ District 5 community grant will be used to fund the 2026 Manila Munchies event.
Requested Action: Approve and authorize allocation of Board of Supervisors’ funds for nonprofit support and community benefit.
