BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

The draft Napa Regional Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (RCAAP) was released for public review on August 1st via the project website -  www.climateactionnapa.konveio.com <http://www.climateactionnapa.konveio.com>.

The public comment period for the draft RCAAP will come to a close on September 30, 2025.

The RCAAP is a roadmap that identifies strategies, measures, and actions that guide the region to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.

CAC members requested Erik de Kok, Ascent team project lead, give presentations of the draft RCAAP to each jurisdiction’s governing body which he did on the following dates:

Tuesday, August 05, Napa County Board of Supervisors

Friday, August 22, Climate Action Committee

Tuesday, September 02, Napa City Council

Tuesday, September 02, Calistoga City Council

Tuesday, September 16, Yountville Town Council

Tuesday, September 16, American Canyon City Council

Tuesday, September 23, St. Helena City Council

In addition to public access to the draft RCAAP on the project website for review and comment, staff organized Open House events which provided opportunities for residents to interact with the concepts, strategies, and measures found in the RCAAP. Open House event attendees were able to provide direct feedback and comments through interactive exercises and by having conversations with staff. The Open House events hosted by Ascent, Napa Resource Conservation District, and project staff took place on the following dates:

Wednesday, August 20, Yountville Community Center, Heritage Room

Thursday, August 21, American Canyon Public Library, Community Room

Wednesday, August 27, Napa Main Library, Community Room

Wednesday, September 17, Calistoga Community Center

In addition to promoting and celebrating the milestone of having a complete draft of the RCAAP, the presentations to councils and Board of Supervisors were meant to inspire conversation and provide an opportunity for all elected members from each of the Napa jurisdictions to get familiar with and weigh-in on the RCAAP and its content.

CAC members are invited to share feedback from their respective council presentations including any additional insights gained during the public review period of the draft RCAAP.
