BACKGROUND
On January 23, 2024, the Board of Supervisors authorized acceptance of a $510,000 bequest from the Ursula Haase Trust of 2008 to benefit the Napa County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center. This was a partial distribution from the Trust with the second and final distribution to be granted sometime in the future. The second and final payment from the Trust, in the amount of $43,751, was received on April 22, 2026. The bequest did not come with restrictions other than the funds be used to benefit the Napa County Animal Shelter.
In accordance with Napa County’s Procedure for the Acceptance and Disbursement of Donations, Resolution No. 2025-80, the Board of Supervisors must accept cash donations in excess of $10,000.
Requested Action:
1. Accept a bequest in the amount of $43,751 from the Ursula Haase Trust of 2008; and
2. Authorize the Chair to sign a letter of appreciation and a trust distribution receipt.
