BACKGROUND
Napa County's Employee Recognition Awards Program is designed to motivate, recognize, and reward exemplary performance that supports the County's overall organizational goals. It encourages high-quality work and highlights the skills and behaviors that reflect the County’s core values.
Napa County is proud of its 1,600 dedicated employees contributing to the County’s mission enhancing the quality of life for our residents through exceptional public service.
The Napa County CEO and Board of Supervisors are committed to celebrating the outstanding accomplishments of County employees and showing appreciation for their dedication to serving our community. This special board meeting celebrates Napa County’s inaugural Employee Recognition Awards.
Award Categories:
Chair’s Award for Extraordinary Achievement in Public Service:
Selected and presented by the Chair of the Board to an individual employee, employee group, or County project that exemplifies high-level competency and significant achievement in delivering extraordinary public service.
CEO’s Award for Leadership, Culture, & Productivity:
Selected and presented by the CEO to an individual employee, employee group, or County project that has significantly advanced organizational goals and objectives. This award recognizes efforts that build public trust and confidence in County government, improving the public’s perception of our organization, workforce, and services provided.
Outstanding Department Head Award:
Presented by the Chair of the Board to a Department Head or Elected Department Head selected through nominations and colleague input. This award recognizes a leader who sets the standard of excellence in managing operations and people. The recipient demonstrates exceptional leadership, customer service, fiscal management, innovation, collaboration, and sound judgment. They are known as a thought leader, mentor, and mediator.
Excellence in Public Service Award (four awards):
Presented by members of the Board of Supervisors, this award recognizes an employee nominated by their peers, colleagues, and department heads for exceptional leadership in public service. Awardees are known for their strategic thinking, accountability, customer-focused service, and thoughtful decision-making, serving as top performers and role models in their respective areas.
30+ Years of Service Awards:
Presented by the Director of Human Resources, this award recognizes employees who have dedicated more than thirty years in service to the community of Napa County.
