RECOMMENDATION

title

Adopt a Resolution to amend the Departmental Allocation List for the District Attorney’s Office by extending an existing Attorney I/II/III - Limited Term, through December 31, 2025, with no net increase in full-time equivalents. (No Fiscal Impact)

body

BACKGROUND

The District Attorney’s Office utilizes an Attorney I/II/III - Limited Term position to backfill behind attorneys who are out on approved leaves of absence. This position has been critical in maintaining staff numbers within the office to ease the heavy caseloads that result from staff on extended periods of leaves of absence. Currently, this position is scheduled to expire December 31, 2024, and was included in the 2024/2025 Fiscal Year budget and is funded through June 30, 2025.

This request extends the Attorney I/II/III - Limited Term, through to December 31, 2025, to meet the District Attorney’s Office need for coverage when the need arises.

Requested Actions:

Adopt a Resolution to amend the Department Allocation List for the District Attorney’s Office by adding a 1.0 Limited Term Attorney I/II/III for the term of October 26, 2024 to December 31, 2025 and deleting a 1.0 Limited Term Attorney I/II/III for the term of November 11, 2023 to December 31, 2024.
