Approve and authorize Agreement No. 250149B with Jan C. Bouch, for the term August 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025 to provide executive coaching and mentoring of Probation Supervisors and Managers. (Fiscal Impact: $58,000 Expense; General Fund; Budgeted; Discretionary)

BACKGROUND
Probation has been working with the Consultant to provide strategic planning initiatives with intended outcomes, guiding principles and supervisor training. This agreement allows Jan Bouch to continue to provide expert management consulting services to address strategies to strengthen the Department’s leadership team. Ms. Bouch will work on a “project basis” under the direction of the Chief Probation Officer to assist individual supervisors and managers and other staff designated by the Chief to meet the expectations of their positions and to achieve the Department’s long-range goals.
Requested Action:
Approve and authorize Agreement No. 250149B with Jan C. Bouch for a contract maximum of $58,000 for the term August 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, with one (1) automatic annual renewal to provide executive coaching and mentoring to Probation Supervisors and Managers.

The Consultant has been working with the Department for several years providing Strategic Planning and Executive Coaching. Continued assistance will allow for continuity of objectives, goals, employee development, and ongoing improvement. |

Consequences if not approved: |
If the Agreement is not approved, the successful work of the consultant the past several years may not be continued. Years of implementing strategic planning initiatives, organizational development, process improvements and mentoring could be delayed with a cease in service and weaken the collaborative efforts established, reducing efficiency, productivity and employee engagement. |
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
