BACKGROUND

The previous incumbent Halley Lauer, served the maximum of three terms pursuant to Resolution 2015-09, Article I. This created a vacancy for a County of Napa Representative. The County Executive Office recruited for the position and received three (3) new applications from Marie Paz B. Maurer, Linda S. Bouwer, and Yuan D’antilio.

The Napa County Library Commission functions as an advisory commission to the Napa County Board of Supervisors on matters pertaining to the Library. The Commission consists of eight (8) members; three (3) to be appointed by the County Board of Supervisors, two (2) appointed by the Napa City Council, one (1) appointed by the American Canyon City Council, one (1) appointed by the Calistoga City Council, and one (1) appointed by the Yountville Town Council.  A member whose appointment has expired may continue to serve until a new appointment is made by the appropriate authority.

On May 2, 2024, the Library Commission met at a regular meeting and voted to recommend Yuan D’antilio to fill the position for the County of Napa Representative.

Requested Action:

Accept the recommendation of the Library Commission (attached) and appoint Yuan D’antilio as the County of Napa Representative with the term commencing immediately and expiring on January 31, 2027.
