Approval and Authorization for the Executive Director to sign a Budget Amendment to increase appropriations for the Authority’s American Canyon Sanitary Landfill (ACSL) Maintenance-Equipment budget in the amount of $20,000, offset by available fund balance. This is to replace the current five SolarEdge SE10kW three-phase inverters with SMA 20kW three-phase inverters. This amendment will increase our Maintenance-Equipment budget from $15,000 to $35,000. The cost of inverter replacement is $27,840.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Kenwood Energy, our ACSL solar consultant, has recommended replacement of the current five (5) SolarEdge 10kW inverters with three (3) SMA 20kW inverters. Photovoltaics California (PVCA) will be conducting this replacement work. Work includes the removal of five existing older SolarEdge SE10kW three-phase inverters and installation of three SMA 20kW three-phase inverters. Our panel system needs 55 kW DC.
The purpose of the replacement is to avoid the rapid decline of the original inverters and have a single monitoring system. Our current system is almost 9 years old. Kenwood feels the savings lost from the low performance of the current inverters are now about $8,500 per year. Based on the inverter replacement estimate of $27,840, the payback of replacing the inverters is a little more than 3 years.
This PVCA proposal includes disconnecting, removing, mounting, wiring, and commissioning the new SMA inverters, prevailing wage labor, material, 30-amp 480v Circuit Breaker and required performance bonds. PVCA Annual subscription for monitoring is $1,000 per year.
