body
BACKGROUND
The consultant’s services include a targeted evaluation model, designed to assess neurodevelopmental, academic, social, emotional, and other processing concerns in selected probation youth. The consultant’s approach is intentionally comprehensive yet streamlined to ensure evaluations are clinically informative and practically relevant for case planning, intervention recommendations, and court proceedings. The consultant’s team brings extensive expertise in working with youth populations impacted by trauma, learning differences, and behavioral health challenges.
The scope of this particular assessment model provides a foundational profile of the youth’s emotional and social development and neurocognitive profile. The findings will allow for planning and collaboration in recommending appropriate county and/or school-based supports.
Dr. Daniel Peters has knowledge, expertise and has personally worked with Probation’s Juvenile Hall as a Mental Health clinician. In addition, he has worked with ALDEA, a non-profit providing current treatment services to Probation youth. Dr. Peters and his team are uniquely qualified to provide a skillset and team of experts to provide comprehensive services immediately to Probation’s Skyline Academy youth.
This Agreement is paid by a State funding source, Juvenile Justice Realignment Block Grant (SB 823). The maximum contract amount is $100,000 each fiscal year. Probation anticipates an $87,000 expense this fiscal year.
