RECOMMENDATION
title
Approve and authorize the extension of Lease Agreement 230192B with the California Department of Veterans Affairs for the term of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2030, by exercising the second and final option to extend the existing land use lease for an additional four-year period between Napa County and the State of California. (No Fiscal Impact; Discretionary)
body
BACKGROUND
On May 1, 1997, Napa County and the State of California entered into Lease Agreement No. 230192B (L-1448) for a 1.12-acre site on the California Veteran’s Home property, currently home of the Yountville Fire Station, with an annual rental rate of $10,000, receiving a rental credit for the annual rental amount, for the term of May 1, 1997, through June 30, 2022.
On or about November 8, 2022, County Fire exercised the first of two renewal options, extending the term of the lease for a four-year period from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2026. County Fire now wishes to exercise the second and final renewal option to further extend the lease for continued operations through June 30, 2030.
