BACKGROUND
The County’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) operates a Mental Health Plan (MHP) through its agreement with the California Department of Healthcare Services (DHCS). The MHP is part of the Behavioral Health Division and requires that certain mental health services be provided to Medi-Cal beneficiaries in the County, including Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT) services.
Mentis, Inc,. has been providing mental health support to the Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) population for many years. The County currently contracts with two other providers for these mandated EPSDT services and is adding a third provider to increase the overall capacity and flexibility to deliver services to youth-especially in school settings. Mentis is both an adult and child mental health provider of intense individualized specialty mental health programs to children and families in difficult situations. Contracted services will be provided through co-location at NVUSD and Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) sites throughout the Napa Valley. Services will also be provided at County-approved community settings and Mentis's clinical offices in the City of Napa.
