body

BACKGROUND

On March 8, 2016, the Board approved a construction contract award to Status Electrical Corporation for jail security system maintenance and upgrades.  The project involved installation and/or replacement of video cameras and associated intercoms, the installation of control room equipment and replacement of programmable logic controllers for cell door controls.  In 2021, the system was updated when components from the 2016 work reached their useful life.  On July 22, 2025, Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 20019B was approved to extend the term through June 30, 2028, and reduce the maximum compensation, with two, one-year renewals to provide ongoing maintenance and support.  Amendment No.3 changes the contract to include bi-annual system analysis, on-call emergency technical support, a two-year extension of warranties on two servers and two storage appliances, and on-site technical support if needed.  The maximum compensation for the contract will be changed from $100,000 for the life of the agreement to $100,000 per fiscal year.

This equipment will continue to be needed for as long as the court holding facility is operating in the basement of the Hall of Justice.
