Approve and authorize Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 170074B with Bombola Agency, Inc. for the term July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027, with an automatic renewal of up to two additional one-year terms for pre-employment background investigations. BACKGROUND
On July 1, 2016, Corrections entered into Agreement No. 170074B with Bombola Agency, Inc., for pre-employment background investigations. A background investigation is one of the required steps in the peace officer selection process. Bombola Agency provides an extensive background investigation which includes a review of the applicant’s personal history statement, interviewing relatives and former employers, and an interview with the applicant.
Today’s requested action is for the approval of Amendment No. 2 to Agreement No. 170074B with Bombola Agency to extend the term through June 30, 2027, with and automatic renewal of up to two (2) additional one (1) year terms for pre-employment background investigations and amend the maximum compensation amount to $45,000 for professional services and $10,000 for expenses per fiscal year.
Bombola Agency, Inc. of Napa is a local vendor.

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
