title

Authorize the purchase of a capital asset for a commercial kitchen steam table; and approve the related Budget Amendment. (Fiscal Impact: $7,000 Expense and Revenue; Housing Authority Fund; Not Budgeted; Discretionary)
[4/5 Vote Required]

body

BACKGROUND

The Napa County Housing Authority contracts with California Human Development Corporation (CHDC) for onsite operations and maintenance of the county-owned farmworker centers, including preparing and cooking meals for sixty lodgers, three times per day, six days per week. The commercial kitchen steam table, which helps maintain proper food temperatures, has failed. A commercial appliance technician has recommended replacement because the existing unit is beyond repair and has exceeded its useful life.
Requested Actions:
1. Authorize the purchase of a capital asset in the amount of $7,000 for the commercial kitchen steam table;
2. Approve a Budget Amendment to increase appropriations in Napa County Housing Authority (Fund 5060, Subdivision 5060501, Account 55400) by $7,000 for the purchase of the commercial kitchen steam table offset by an increase of $7,000 in donations (Fund 5060, Subdivision 5060501, Account 47500).
