BACKGROUND

Board of Supervisors adopted the Napa County Library policy, Section 29, authorizing the Library Director to accept donations on behalf of the Napa County Library in the amount of $10,000 or less from the Friends of the Library groups and report such donations annually to the Board of Supervisors.
Today, the Director of Library Services and Community Outreach is reporting Friends group donations received during the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year 2023-2024 in the amount of $9,724.
Requested actions:

1.                     Accept and instruct the Clerk of the Board to file the quarterly report of Friends group donations in the amount of $10,000 or less gifted to Library from April 1, 2024, through June 30, 2024; and

2.                     Chair to sign letters of appreciation in acceptance of the donations.

Discretionary Justification:

Deposit of donations into the specified library location budget will facilitate fiscal monitoring and ensure that donation spending will be consistent with the intent of the donors.

Is the general fund affected?

No

Future fiscal impact:

None, donated funds will be utilized in the fiscal year received.

Consequences if not approved:

Friends’ groups will not be recognized for their donations and will not receive a signed letter of appreciation from the Board of Supervisors

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California
Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
