Professional Standards Training for the term March 1, 2024 through June 30, 2024, with an automatic annual renewal for a contract maximum of $56,000 each fiscal year, to provide law enforcement training. BACKGROUND
L.E. Professional Standards provides Standards and Training for Corrections (STC) to law enforcement personnel that meet the State’s standard in delivering trained qualified instructors and job-related skills training to Corrections and Probation personnel. There are a variety of professional development trainings that are offered. The vendor will deliver training related to California mandates with the latest legislative enactments; case law decisions affecting Probation and other law enforcement agencies; best practice response to manage field contacts; coping mechanisms, professional courage, foundational principles of de-escalation; the importance of personal and peer accountability; and increase the confidence and ability to articulate and assess an individual’s behavior who may be experiencing episodic mental distress and respond with effective resolution techniques.
The department has a current agreement with this vendor but does not reflect current pricing and additional training needed by the Probation Officers.
State funding is available to offset the costs of STC training.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
