EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The requested action amends the existing budget appropriation authority by $220,000 in Human Resources (Fund 1000, Subdivision 1022000) to cover expenses for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2021/2022.

Discretionary Justification:

Due to an oversight, the requested action was not included with the mid-year budget adjustment. The approval of the requested action will allow Human Resources to oversee the countywide Training program.

Consequences if not approved:

If the requested action is not approved, Human Resources not be able to appropriately manage the countywide Training program.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.

 

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The requested action approves a Budget Adjustment appropriation increase of $220,000 in the Human Resources Division of the County Executive Office. Due to an administrative oversight, the necessary increase was not included with the mid-year budget adjustment.  After the reorganization, Human Resources requires additional funding to manage the countywide Training program

Therefore, the Director of Human Resources requests approval of the Budget Adjustment to support countywide Training program.
