Approve and authorize Agreement No. 250382B with The Regents of the University of California for a contract maximum of $169,958 for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 to provide training services to County staff. (Fiscal Impact: $169,958 Expense; Health and Human Services Agency Fund; Budgeted; Discretionary).

BACKGROUND
The County has contracted with the Regents of the University of California for training sessions since 1983. This specialized training is not available through other entities and is provided by subject matter experts in the field and are in subject areas selected by Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) that will benefit our staff agency-wide and ensure that staff receive specific trainings to maintain program and contractor compliance.
This agreement will ensure that HHSA staff improve service delivery in the administration of HHSA programs; implement tactics designed to support the health and well-being of HHSA clients; fulfill mandatory training requirements; remain in compliance with Civil Rights mandates; improve the quality and efficacy of casework and services to the community; and support knowledge and implementation of current best practices in the field.
The courses include California Department of Social Services (CDSS) Required Division 21 Civil Rights and Social Services-specific program trainings.
Requested Actions:
1. Approve and authorize Agreement No. 250382B with The Regents of the University of California - Davis Campus Continuing and Professional Education, for a contract maximum of $169,958 for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026.

There is no mandate to contract for these services, however, this agreement is necessary to stay complaint with State and Federal mandates by updating and incorporating new policies and procedures. |

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
