BACKGROUND

The City of American Canyon has offered to provide office space to the District 5 County Supervisor with no rental fee at their City Hall located at 4381 Broadway in the City of American Canyon. The City of American Canyon constitutes a major portion of District 5. Having a satellite office in American Canyon will increase access for constituents to their County representative and increase County presence in south Napa County. The leased space will be used to meet with constituents, participate in meetings, and as a secondary work location for the District 5 representative. The County will be responsible for providing routine custodial services to the office and for maintenance of the interior of the office.

Discretionary Justification:

Although there is no mandate to lease space at American Canyon City Hall, it is desirable to have a satellite office for District 5 Supervisor to increase accessibility for constituents to their County representative.

Is the general fund affected?

Yes

Future fiscal impact:

Inclusion of custodial services and interior maintenance expenses in future years.

Consequences if not approved:

If the agreement is not approved, County will not be able to have a satellite office to better serve constituents of District 5.

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: General Rule. It can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility the proposed action may have a significant effect on the environment and therefore CEQA is not applicable.
