(Fiscal Impact: $200,000 Expense; Health and Human Services Agency Fund; Budgeted; Discretionary)
body
BACKGROUND
The County’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Self Sufficiency Services Division (SSS) aims for robust outreach, enrollment, and retention, and to engage uninsured county residents who are Medi-Cal eligible, with a focus on targeted, hard-to-reach populations.
Community Health Initiative Napa County, Inc., (CHI) currently provides outreach services to new and existing Medi-Cal clients by assisting with the completion of new and renewal Medi-Cal applications onsite and at outreach locations and engages current Medi-Cal beneficiaries on how to maintain Medi-Cal benefits, if otherwise eligible. Many applicants and beneficiaries need extra assistance with filling out paperwork and providing verifications on a timely basis to access health care benefits.
Approval of this amendment reflects an increase to the contract maximum to ensure CHI is able to maintain appropriate staffing levels to continue their efforts in assisting individuals with completing applications and renewals at onsite and outreach locations.
