BACKGROUND
Aldea Children and Family Services provide an array of therapeutic and support services to at-risk youth and minors on probation. These services include mental health counseling for youth referred to the Juvenile Evening Reporting Center (ERC) and counseling and intervention services for high-risk juvenile wards attending Chamberlain High School and youth in Juvenile Hall. Aldea has the resources and expertise to provide substance abuse prevention, assessment, intervention, and treatment services for youth. The Agreement contains the following services:
Aldea provides a 0.80 FTE Case Manager to deliver behavioral health support to high-risk juvenile wards at the ERC. Open weekday evenings from Monday through Thursday, the ERC provides highly structured programming and supervision for justice-involved youth during after school hours. Aldea runs a social night on Fridays. This portion of the Agreement is funded by state juvenile realignment funds from the Youthful Offender Block Grant (YOBG) and Juvenile Probation Funding (JPF).
A 0.80 FTE Therapist provides year-round behavioral health support to high-risk wards attending Chamberlain High School and youth placed in Juvenile Hall. The purpose of the therapy is to prevent more restrictive placements by supporting youth and their families during the school year and summer months. This program serves youth on probation and is considered a best practice in changing youth behavior. Funding for this portion of the Agreement is provided using state juvenile realignment funds from JPF.
ERC staff provide cognitive behavioral training to youth. Funding for this portion of the Agreement is provided by state juvenile realignment funds from the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act (JJCPA).
Aldea is a local vendor.
Requested Action:
Approve and authorize Agreement No. 270073B with Aldea Children and Family Services for the term July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, with a contract maximum of $296,856.
