body
BACKGROUND
The hiring and integration of Certified Peer Support Specialists into service delivery plans is a growing practice among California counties, supported by Medi-Cal reimbursement changes enacted by Senate Bill 803. The County’s Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) has made a commitment to hiring and integrating this provider credential that many supervisors and contract providers have not been trained to supervise. Crestwood Behavioral Health's training division, Recovery Resilience Solutions (CRRS), has developed training for staff that supervise Certified Peer Support Specialists. Contractor trainings align with the foundational practices, skills, and professional expectations of Crestwood Recovery Resilient Solutions’ Peer Support Learning for the 21st Century, a Medi-Cal approved peer support specialist certification training.
The CRRS courses support principles and practices for creating and sustaining a recovery and resilient-oriented service environment. This training will be made available to HHSA staff and contractor provided community-based organization staff
