BACKGROUND

District staff are currently engaged in completion of the last two increments of the Napa River/Napa Creek
Flood Protection Project (Project) that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has determined to be in the
federal interest to pursue. These increments are the Floodwalls North of the Bypass Project and the Imola to
Hatt Floodwalls Project. At the current time, staff are progressing the design of the Floodwalls North of the
Bypass Project towards a projected construction start in 2025. The USACE is involved in review of the design
and will be approving the design and reimbursement requests for construction of the Project.

Staff will provide updates during the meeting on the latest activities, including land acquisitions, design and permitting.
