The BOR constructed and has been operating Monticello Dam, which created Lake Berryessa in the 1950s. Additionally, the Agreement provides 1,500 acre feet of "Contractor Water" which can be used by entities within the District's service area in the Upper Putah Creek Watershed outside of lands of the United States. There is no cost for the water except for annual administrative fees.
