RECOMMENDATION

title

Adopt a Resolution to amend Napa County Policy Manual Part I Section 37K - Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation Prevention Policy. (No Fiscal Impact, Mandatory)

body

BACKGROUND

The terms of a mediated January 2025 Settlement Agreement required the County Counsel’s Office to conduct a policy review within sixty days. The Settlement Agreement also required the completion of any policy updates by April 11, 2025. The policy review is complete and the proposed updates to the Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation Prevention Policy, effective April 8, 2025, are presented ahead of the deadline. The substantive update to the policy emphasizes the duty of supervisors and managers to immediately report potential policy violations regardless of their assessment of the potential violation. The County has met and conferred with all employee bargaining groups regarding this policy change.

Requested Action:
Adopt a resolution to amend the Napa County Policy Manual Part I Section 37K - Discrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation Prevention Policy, effective April 8, 2025.
