ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: The proposed action is not a project as defined by 14 California Code of Regulations 15378 (State CEQA Guidelines) and therefore CEQA is not applicable.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

Staff are working with the Sheriff and community based organizations to address immigration enforcement concerns through informal “Know Your Rights” discussions with lodgers. Additionally, staff have posted Spanish and English statements from local law enforcement agencies and the Board of Supervisors at each of the centers as well as QR codes lining lodgers to available immigration-rights information.
