EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
If approved, this request adds three 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) Child Protective Services Worker I/II - Limited Term positions to the Health and Human Services Agency, to provide relief to the Child Welfare Services Division for staff on extended leaves of absence. The term will expire on June 30, 2024.

Child Welfare Services provides critical community services relating to responding to abuse and neglect.

Future fiscal impact:
The cost of salaries and benefits for the remainder of FY 2022-2023 is $340,413. The annualized cost of salaries and benefits for is estimated at $421,464. 42% of the cost will be covered by 2011 Realignment, 40% by Title IV-E, and 18% by Health and Human Services Agency's General Fund.
Consequences if not approved:
If the three additional Child Protective Services Worker I/IIs - Limited Term are not approved, Child Welfare Services will struggle to investigate and respond to child abuse neglect, provide mandated abuse referrals in the community, and file critical court petitions while approximately 30% of staff is out on ...
