BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

The Health & Human Services Agency (HHSA) and Human Resources considered various options to meet the need for an Assistant Medical Director position, and determined that the creation of a new Assistant Public Health Officer was appropriate.  Adding this classification will provide the County’s Public Health Officer with assistance and relief, especially during critical public health emergencies. This action creates the new classification so it can be filled at a later time as needed.

Therefore, the Director of Human Resources and the Director of HHSA request adoption of a Resolution amending the Table and Index of Classes and appropriate Personnel Policies to reflect the creation of the Assistant Public Health Officer classification, effective September 17, 2022.
