The proclamation declaring the month of September 2022 as "National Recovery Month" will demonstrate the County's participation in the nationwide effort to encourage individuals and communities to participate in Recovery Month activities.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The Alcohol and Drug Services Division of Napa County Health and Human Services Agency and the Napa County Alcohol and Drug Advisory Board declare September as "National Recovery Month" to express the County's continued support of and commitment to alcohol and drug prevention, treatment and recovery.
Each September, National Recovery Month works to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible. There are millions of Americans whose lives have been transformed through recovery. Since these successes often go unnoticed by the broader population, Recovery Month provides a vehicle for everyone to celebrate these accomplishments.
